Budget/Schedule

Budget/Schedule: Welcome

Budget

The cost of this project was reduced with the redesign, because the new assembly utilizes many of the preexisting parts from the old cutter assembly, including the housing and half of the blades, which constitute the bulk of the expense. No extra cost resulted from manufacturing mistakes, and every precaution was taken to keep it that way.
The budget expenditures entirely consist of parts and materials, because no outsourced labor was required. All labor was done by the principal engineer on site at CWU. By far the most costly parts ordered were the blades, which made reusing blades from the old assembly extremely beneficial in reducing further costs.

Schedule

The schedule for the design portion of the project was contingent upon the proposal being finished fall quarter, including all analysis and necessary proposal elements.
Manufacturing was completed during winter quarter, but necessary adjustments were made throughout the year until the report was finished.
Testing was finished by the end of spring quarter, during the time that was allotted for testing and analysis of results.
